BRUNSWICK LAUNCHES NEW STRATEGIC PLAN

BRUNSWICK SCHOOL, GREENWICH CT

PROJECT GOALS

Gowan Group engaged with Brunswick for extensive research and strategic planning project in November, 2018. Founded in 1902 Brunswick is a PK-12th grade school with approximately 960 boys in Greenwich, CT. Historically, they have not struggled with enrollment, and they have always enjoyed an excellent reputation. Recently, they acquired two new campuses, one adjacent to existing property and the other in Vermont. Our goal was to perform extensive, data-driven research, identify areas of interest, and craft a five-year strategic plan to usher Brunswick into the near future.

OUR SOLUTION

We offered Brunswick an inclusive and comprehensive approach to an innovative, data-driven strategic plan. We began with the research phase and hosted key-informant interviews, focus groups, and three separate surveys that addressed the relevant topics. Our surveys were developed in-house by the Gowan Group Research Department and expressly for the Brunswick community. We heard opinions from over 1400 individuals: faculty and staff, students, parents, alumni, and trustees. Along side a Strategic Planning Committee and the Board of Trustees, we developed a visionary strategic plan over the course of six months.

RESULTS

After ten months of thoughtful preparation, Brunswick introduced the new plan to the community in September, 2019. The School not only uses a fine printed brochure, but also a microsite and mobile version to launch its new strategic plan.

"The Gowan Group was an essential element of the success of our recent strategic planning process. Entirely professional, well-versed in current educational issues, visionary and focused, they lead us - every step of the way - through an enriching, inclusive and reflective process that has been very well received by our entire school community and will, I am sure, serve the school well in the years to come."
